Read: 1 Timothy 2:4, 2 Timothy 3:13
As a kid, my siblings and I used to joke about who was Mom or Dad’s favorite. It was mostly harmless fun, but deep down, I think those jokes tapped into a real insecurity we all felt. After all, it’s natural to have favorites—we all gravitate toward one best friend, even if we don’t say it out loud. And truthfully, we want to be someone’s favorite too.
But God’s love doesn’t work that way. His heart beats for every single person—no exceptions. Yet, we often find it easier to care about certain people more than others. The truth is that everyone, from our closest friends to the most distant strangers, matters deeply to God. This mission to make Christ known is driven by God’s desire for all people to be saved.
This means that no one is beyond the reach of God’s love. When we understand this, our hearts align with God’s, and we begin to see people as He does—valuable, beloved, and worth pursuing.
Carrying this gospel message isn’t just a responsibility; it’s a joy. The next time you encounter someone difficult to love, remember: that they are someone God longs to redeem. And He has chosen you to share that love with them.
Reflection Questions:
- Who in your life do you find hard to love?
- How can you reflect God’s love to someone who feels distant from Him?
- What steps can you take to share God’s message of salvation today?
