Internship Program

Application Deadline for Summer 2024: 5 p.m. on Friday, May 3, 2024

Program Overview

Our internship program is designed to train and equip the next generation of leaders for work both inside and beyond the walls of the local church. We are always looking for emerging leaders who are energetic, driven and spiritually motivated, interested in getting the best hands-on experience possible while also contributing to the c|Life ministry team.

If you’re looking for a high-paying salaried position with amazing benefits, this program probably won’t be a good fit for you. However, if you are ready to roll up your sleeves, serve under some of the best leaders in our area, and gain a once-in-a-lifetime opportunity to passionately serve Jesus in a fast-paced, laser-focused, gospel-centered church, then you are in the right place!

A c|Life internship is about more than fetching coffee, taking out the trash, and making photocopies. We do enjoy a fresh cup of coffee from time to time, and sometimes the trash needs to be taken out, or copies need to get made, but we are also committed to stretching and empowering young leaders to help us achieve our mission of connecting people to God and one another.

This program may help you build your résumé or get credit for a college class, but if that’s all you’re looking for, then we won’t have a place for you on our team. However, if you have a fire in your belly to reach the world with the hope of the Gospel, if you are passionate about making the name of Jesus known in our cities and believe that God wants to use your gifts to advance that cause, then we want you!

Our commitment is simple: we want to equip you with world-class training to help take your talents to the next level! Regardless of your skill set, we want you to become the very best at whatever it is that you do. Whether you’re interested in preschool/children’s ministry, student ministry, counseling, audio/visual production, international missions, graphic design or administration, we may have a place for you!

Why not dedicate this next season of your life to something that may never be available to you again? This truly could be a once-in-a-lifetime opportunity. Spots are limited, and we review applications daily, so apply now!

FAQs

How do I apply?

The application deadline for Summer 2024 is Friday, May 3, 2024, at 5 p.m.

Where can I serve?

We’re offering internships in most ministry areas, including:

  • Preschool Ministry
  • Children’s Ministry
  • Student Ministry
  • Community Group Ministry
  • Campus Pastor/Connection Pastor
  • Journey Groups
  • Music (vocalist, instrumentalist)
  • Live Weekend Service Production
  • Visual Media (Graphics/Video)
  • International/Local Missions

If you don’t see what you are looking for, let us know what area of ministry lights you up, and we will go from there!

How long does the internship last?

We prefer for participants to commit to a year-long internship, but we are open to discussing other options.

Please note: We prefer to bring on new interns in the fall semester, because the summer session is both short and busy, which leaves little time to really forge a relationship between the intern and supervisor. That said, we do offer some summer internship opportunities. It is also important to note that the summer internship experience will be very different than the fall/spring trimesters as it relates to personal and spiritual development emphases and assignments.

Will I hear from someone immediately after applying?

You will receive an automated response after submitting your application. Once your application is reviewed, the internship program director will email you with instructions on next steps.

What will be expected of me?

Each intern will serve as a key member of a ministry team at weekend services and will participate in campus and team meetings. We also expect you to complete the c|Life membership process before starting your internship, and to comply with the c|Life code of conduct during the course of the internship.

Is there an age requirement for the internship?

Potential interns must be out of high school.

What will c|Life provide?

We provide various things, such as books, occasional meals and possible conferences. You will also receive a financial gift.

c|Life will pay a $1,000 technology/administrative stipend per trimester, either to you or to the college you designate. Some colleges have a “church match” program that could increase your benefit. If you are not currently a student, or if you simply wish to receive the payment directly, that is fine, but there will likely be some tax ramifications. More detailed questions can be directed to our financial office upon request. If you would like more information regarding raising additional financial support from family and friends, just let us know so we can connect you with the financial office for more detailed information.

We will also provide a mentor, staff access and hands-on training in your selected ministry area. It’s hard to put a value on the experience you will gain from learning and growing under the guidance of some of the top leaders in our area.

What is a typical weekly schedule?

Weekly schedules vary depending on your area of ministry, however, most schedules will involve serving in all services on your home campus.

How many hours per week are interns expected to work?

We will expect a minimum commitment of 20 hours a week from each intern, which does include Sunday services.

Will I get time off?

Yes. Time off should be communicated and agreed upon between the intern and his or her supervisor.

Can I attend college during the internship?

Of course! We encourage interns to manage college classes and the internship program at the same time. We believe that completing college and getting a degree should be a priority. If you are seeking to make this a full-time internship, however, you are welcome to raise support.

Can I seek outside employment?

Absolutely! We expect that most, if not all, interns will secure outside employment. We do ask, however, that ministry expectations and time requirements take precedence over outside work schedules for weekend services, ministry team meetings and Tuesday evening internship meetings.

At which campus will I serve?

Campus placement will be determined based on the skill set of the intern and current opportunities available within the church.

How can I get college credit?

If your college or university offers internship opportunities, we will do our best to ensure that you meet all the necessary requirements. It will be your responsibility to know what is required and to communicate that to your supervisor.
