About Us

At c|Life, everyone’s welcome because nobody’s perfect. At each of our campuses, you will find a group of warm and friendly people who are trying to be more like Jesus. Whether you are looking for a church home, or you just want to see what we’re all about, we’d love for you to join us during our next service!

our story

In 2006, a small handful of people gathered together at one of their homes to discuss their common calling. They felt that God was leading them to start a church that was different from what any of them were used to. They wanted to strip away the excess junk that often comes bundled with organized religion. Instead, they believed that the focus should be on building a pure, simple relationship with God through Jesus Christ. Less than two months later, Community Life Church held its first worship service at an elementary school in Forney, Texas.

Over the next decade, God allowed c|Life to grow, first to a permanent campus in Forney, followed by another one several years later in nearby Sunnyvale. We now have five permanent campuses, in Forney, Sunnyvale, Kaufman, Rockwall, and Canton, as well as a growing online campus. Since those first Sundays at the elementary school, our mission — connecting people to God and one another — has remained the same.

About the Bible

The Bible is the revelation of the Creator to his creation. In the Bible, God tells us who he is, who we are, what his plan is for his creation and how we are to relate to him. The Bible was inspired by God, making it free from error and completely trustworthy to teach us the truth. It is the ultimate source of authority in the life of all believers.

1 Timothy 3:16
2 Peter 1:12-21

About Jesus Christ

Jesus Christ is the eternal Son of God. He became human, without ceasing to be God, in order to come into his creation and save us from our sin, fulfilling all the prophecies made about him in the Old Testament. After living a sinless life, He was crucified and died. He was buried, and three days later he came back to life, proving that he is Lord of all, even over death.

John 14:6

Hebrews 1:1-3

About the Holy Spirit

The Holy Spirit is God, as are God the Father and Jesus Christ the Son. The Holy Spirit convicts believers when we sin, teaches the truth about Jesus, and lives inside of those who are saved, regenerating us and empowering us to become more and more like Christ until Christ returns.

About People

Humanity was created by God. We were created without sin. However, humanity sinned and has been sinful ever since. This sin separates us from God’s presence and leaves us spiritually dead, even before we are born and in need of life. No one is capable of being good enough to save themselves. We need a Savior.

Psalm 14:2-3
Romans 3:23
Ephesians 2:1-10

About Salvation

Since we are separated from God by our sin, a penalty must be paid. This penalty is eternal separation from God. In his love and mercy, Jesus Christ came to Earth, God in the flesh, to pay an infinitely sufficient price for us on the cross. Each person is saved as they place their faith in Jesus Christ as their only hope for salvation.

Romans 6:23
Ephesians 2:8

About The Church

The Church is made up of every believer that lives or has ever lived, regardless of ethnic identity or geographic location. Community Life is a local expression of this Church, existing for the purpose of encouraging one another, teaching one another, holding one another accountable, and worshipping God together. The Church is God’s instrument for reaching the world for his glory, so we strive to display the image of God by reflecting His love in the community around us.

Acts 2:42-45
Romans 12:5
1 Corinthians 12:12-14
Ephesians 4:4

About Eternity

One day, still in the future, Jesus Christ will return for his Church. When he does, there will be a resurrection of the dead. His Church will be taken up from the Earth to meet him in the air as he returns. There will be a day of judgment of every person that has ever lived. Those who belong to Jesus Christ will be taken into his presence for eternity, where we will forever glorify our creator. Those that are not His will be sent into a place of eternal torment, separated from God.

John 14:1-3
1 Thessalonians 1:7-9
2 Peter 3:13

About Worshiping Together

We demonstrate biblical worship by the reading and teaching of God’s Word, the singing of songs, and the taking of communion.

About Giving

As faithful stewards of what God has given to us, every Christian should give back to God generously and sacrificially. These resources are used to support the church, provide relief for those in need, and to spread the gospel.
