Read: 1 Thessalonians 4:11, 1 Timothy 2:1-2

I keep a video on my phone of a time I went sailing. Its nothing special; it’s just a video of water gliding across the sailboat’s hull. I keep it on my phone because it takes me back to a time when I felt completely calm and at peace. So whenever things get chaotic, I pull my phone out and watch the video. We all have our peaceful moments, don’t we? Maybe it’s a cup of coffee on the porch or a place you like to hike. These times of peace and quietness are often where we find the most clarity and connection with God.

Paul encourages the Thessalonians to aspire to live a quiet life. This advice is profound, especially in a world that often values busyness and loudness. A quiet life allows for reflection, intentionality, and deeper relationships with God and others.

In 1 Timothy 2:1–2, Paul emphasizes the importance of praying for leaders so that we may lead a peaceful and quiet life. This reflects the Christian value of living in a way that fosters peace and godliness, free from unnecessary conflicts and distractions.

Reflect on how you can cultivate a quiet life amidst the noise and chaos of the world. Consider the practices and disciplines that help you maintain peace and focus on what truly matters.
