Read: Romans 10:14-15
According to the Joshua Project, there are over 7,000 unreached people groups, representing billions of individuals with little to no access to the gospel. Specifically, 7,391 of the world’s 17,446 unique people groups are considered unreached, which accounts for over 42% of the global population. That means around 3.4 billion people live in communities with minimal or no exposure to the message of Jesus. The majority of these groups (85%) are concentrated in the 10/40 Window—a region stretching across North Africa, the Middle East, and parts of Asia. Despite the great need, less than 3% of missionary efforts are directed toward these unreached groups. An unreached people group is defined as having fewer than 2% evangelical Christians, making it almost impossible for the group to evangelize itself without outside help. This staggering reality highlights both the challenge and the opportunity we have as believers.
It’s easy to assume that everyone has heard about Jesus, especially when we live in places that are saturated with churches, Christian resources, and opportunities to hear the gospel. But the truth is, there are still vast areas and entire people groups who have never even heard His name.
This can feel overwhelming, but God’s answer is simple: He sends people—ordinary believers like you and me. Whether it’s across the street or across the globe, the call remains the same. It’s not about being perfect; it’s about being faithful and willing.
Every interaction matters. Whether you plant a seed of faith or help someone take their next step toward Christ, your words and actions have eternal significance.
Reflection Questions:
- What fears keep you from sharing your faith?
- How can you take a step of boldness in sharing the gospel?
- Who in your life needs to hear about Jesus?
