You are judging by appearances. If anyone is confident that they belong to Christ, they should consider again that we belong to Christ just as much as they do.
— 2 Corinthians 10:7

Do you ever play that game where you google how old someone was when they made it? When we are young, we google young people and say, “If they did it, I could do it.” As we get older, the people we compare ourselves to get older, and we say, “See, it’s not too late for me. I can still make it.”

It’s easy to get insecure about yourself if you look to someone else to set the standard for your life. But You will never be good at living someone else’s life, and you will never find value or worth there.

As followers of Christ, our true worth and value come from being in a relationship with Him. When we genuinely believe that we belong to Christ and that He sees us as valuable and worthy, we will not be swayed by the standards of others or the temporary things of this world. We will be grounded in the love and acceptance of our heavenly Father.

It’s not about what we have or do but who we are in Christ. And that is the foundation that will hold us steady through any storm. How we live and act in this world reflects our true intentions and beliefs, which is why God looks at the hearts of each one of us.

Today, look deeper than the surface of things and rely on Christ’s understanding of you. Have a heart of faith and be confident that you are a child of God. We are called to be more than conquerors. This verse can give us the strength to press on and be victorious in all we do.

Prayer:
Dear Lord, help us to remember that we belong to You and that our true worth and value come from being in a relationship with You. Give us the strength not to be swayed by the opinions of others or the temporary things of this world but to be grounded in the love and acceptance of our heavenly Father. In Jesus’s name, amen.
