He can.
He does.
He will.
If you were to sit at my desk, these three statements are on an oversized note just to the right of my computer, reminding me of truths I know and claim. God goes before us, every moment of every single day. He is always there, fighting for me and working things out for my good. I cannot escape his presence. There is nothing greater than him. So why do I get frustrated? God has never let me down, nor will he ever. I shouldn’t even need a reminder, but I get in my own way.
God is God! It is the role that is meant to be taken on by God alone. I don’t know about you, but I tend to take things on that were never meant to be mine. I have burdens and a little crazy to be conquered in my path on a daily basis. I say I give them to the Lord, but I hold on. I can’t expect the victory if I don’t give the battle to Jesus. Regardless of the situation or circumstance, God doesn’t change. Because I am his child, he is my greatest ally. He is the keeper of my heart, the anchor of my life, the redemption for my soul, the best of me, my help, my hero. Even if I am in the midst of a mess, he is there beside me, seeing me through. God always keeps his promises.
Sometimes, we fail to see what is right in front of us. We live reluctantly. We have to take our blinders off, take our heads out of the hustle and bustle of everyday tasks and seek God. He’s there. He never moves. He never fails. He is fighting our battles and cheering us on, even when we don’t recognize it.
“The size of our prayers reveals our belief in the size of our God.”
What an incredible statement from Sunday’s sermon! Notice the phrase, “belief in the size of our God.” God will always be greater than , no matter what we put in the blank. This will always be true, whether I believe it or not.
In my conversations with God, what do I give him? Do I lay it all out there, holding nothing back and allowing complete transparency, or do I just thank him for my day and give standard lip service hitting the high points, even following an almost scripted, standard one-sided conversation? What if my life, my heart, became so open and transparent that every detail — good, bad and in-between — became the unending conversation with God all of my day? We never even have to say “Dear Jesus” when our heart conveys our words in a continual dialogue, walking thru the day together, allowing God to be God with no reservation. That is the privilege we have, to live in a fluid relationship with Jesus, confident in who he is, walking boldly in faith, and experiencing the best life he has for us.
So also is my word. I send it out, and it always produces fruit. It shall accomplish all I want it to and prosper everywhere I send it.
