blessing
verb
The act of honoring another person by sharing and encouraging a continual state of joy.

“Blessed is the man who trusts in the LORD,
whose trust is the LORD.
He is like a tree planted by water,
that sends out its roots by the stream,
and does not fear when heat comes,
for its leaves remain green,
and is not anxious in the year of drought,
for it does not cease to bear fruit.”
— Jeremiah 17:7-8

One gives freely, yet grows all the richer;
another withholds what he should give, and only suffers want.
Whoever brings blessing will be enriched,
and one who waters will himself be watered.
— Proverbs 11:24-25

“In all things I have shown you that by working hard in this way we must help the weak and remember the words of the Lord Jesus, how he himself said, ‘It is more blessed to give than to receive.’”
— Acts 20:35

How is it possible that one who gives freely grows all the richer? How is it possible that another who withholds his riches only suffers more want? What changes when we, the blessed who possess a continual state of joy in the knowledge and love of our Savior, Christ Jesus, share our blessings with others? Will we become more rich, or will we become more blessed?

Will our riches multiply? Not necessarily.

Will our joy multiply? Definitely. The fruit of sharing our blessings is sharing and multiplying the joy that we have received through Christ Jesus.

But the fruit of the Spirit is love, joy, peace, patience, kindness, goodness, faithfulness,
— Galatians 5:22

May the God of hope fill you with all joy and peace in believing, so that by the power of the Holy Spirit you may abound in hope.
— Romans 15:13
