Read: Galatians 4:4, Colossians 1:17
Some of my favorite TikTok videos are extreme cleaning transformations. Whether it’s watching an overgrown lawn being mowed, a hoarder’s house being restored, or a filthy sidewalk being power washed, there’s something deeply satisfying about a good “before and after” video. It’s amazing how much change can happen with the right effort and care.
In many ways, Jesus’ life is the ultimate “before and after” story. His arrival didn’t just change a lawn, a house, or a sidewalk—it redefined human history itself. We measure time as BC (Before Christ) and AD (Anno Domini, “in the year of our Lord”), with His life as the dividing line. Think about the magnitude of that! A carpenter’s son born in a manger became the hinge upon which all of history turns.
But Jesus didn’t just split time; He came to transform lives. He offers us a personal “before and after” story. Before Jesus, our lives may be marked by sin, fear, or hopelessness. But when we accept Him, He gives us a new beginning filled with grace, forgiveness, and purpose. Just as those cleaning videos show that even the dirtiest spaces can be restored, Jesus shows us that no life is beyond His ability to renew and redeem.
What’s even more incredible is that Jesus doesn’t just clean up our past—He holds our future. Colossians 1:17 reminds us that He is before all things, and in Him, all things hold together. Whatever challenges you face today, remember that Jesus is the one who can take your “before” and transform it into a beautiful “after.”
Questions to Ponder:
- How has Jesus brought transformation to the “before” areas of your life?
- Are there messy or broken places you need to surrender to Him for renewal?
- How can you live today with the confidence that Jesus holds your future?
