There shall come forth a shoot from the stump of Jesse, and a branch from his roots shall bear fruit.

And the Spirit of the Lord shall rest upon him,
the Spirit of wisdom and understanding,
the Spirit of counsel and might,
the Spirit of knowledge and the fear of the Lord.

— Isaiah 11: 1–2

This passage in Isaiah is a prophecy about the coming of Jesus through the human bloodline of Jesse. It also describes the holy qualities that he will possess. These are the characteristics that set him apart from humankind, but he also took on humanness when he came to Earth.

[Jesus] who, though he was in the form of God, did not count equality with God a thing to be grasped, but emptied himself, by taking the form of a servant, being born in the likeness of men. And being found in human form, he humbled himself by becoming obedient to the point of death, even death on a cross.
— Philippians 2:6–8

He needed his mother Mary to comfort him as a baby. Jesus was tempted. He had righteous anger in the temple. He cried over the death of a beloved companion. Jesus felt pain when he willingly died for us. Jesus stepped down from a perfect relationship with the Father and the Spirit to give us the gift of peace through restoration.

For he himself is our peace, who has made us both one and has broken down in his flesh the dividing wall of hostility by abolishing the law of commandments expressed in ordinances, that he might create in himself one new man in place of the two, so making peace, and might reconcile us both to God in one body through the cross, thereby killing the hostility.
— Ephesians 2:14–16

Jesus is our peace. He is a gift given to us by our Heavenly Father. The peace that he offers can only be found in him. It surpasses all understanding for those who believe in him.
