In the beginning was the Word, and the Word was with God, and the Word was God.
— John 1:1
Jesus was prophesied by Moses, Isaiah, Micah, David, Daniel, Zechariah, Malachi, Job and Jeremiah.
His conception was miraculous, and his enemies were incredulous.
He was introduced by John the Baptist and affirmed by God the Father.
As a servant, he exemplified humility.
As a teacher, he drove out confusion, erased myth and obliterated lies.
As the giver of life, he returned breath to those who no longer had it.
As the supreme hope, he replaced worry with peace.
As the great healer, he drove out disease, blindness, despair and embarrassment.
As the miracle maker, he fed thousands and cast out demons.
As the truth teller, he was unwavering and fearless in his honesty.
As the fulfillment of prophecy, he was maligned, tortured and vilified.
As the obedient Son, he finished every task set before him.
As the sacrificial Lamb of God, he willingly surrendered his life, enduring excruciating suffering.
As the power of God, he vanquished death.
As the resurrected Savior, he displayed his authority over this world.
As the living God, he has been, is, and will always be the same.
He will return to collect his saints.
He will return to end suffering, sin and death.
He will return to judge.
He will return to reign as King.
The resurrection of Jesus displayed the power of God.
The resurrection of Jesus confirmed his ministry and his teachings.
The resurrection of Jesus affirmed that the Father accepted his sacrifice on our behalf.
The resurrection of Jesus demands that each of us must decide his place in our life as Lord.
Amen.
