On the night of Feb. 4, 2006, at a Disciple Now event, I accepted Jesus into my heart. I hit the ground running with God in my life. I started leading a small group for the youth. I had conversations with my parents and grandparents about the great news I had received about Jesus. I couldn’t wait to see what God wanted for me each and every day because, each day, I knew that today was the day.

About two years later, I sank into the trap of thinking things like, “Well, God isn’t telling me to go talk to the lady at the laundromat about him, so I won’t.” I began to live the life of, “I’ll talk to that person tomorrow about the good news of Jesus.” I got complacent in a hurry. Days turned into weeks, which turned into years of being really bleh about my faith and sharing it with those around me.

I know that I missed out on a lot of conversations about Jesus that could have been awesome. I’m sure we all can think of those times where we could have said something, but didn’t.

Do not say to your neighbor, “Go, and come again,
tomorrow I will give it”—when you have it with you.
— Proverbs 3:28

The writer tells us that what we have, whether it be inside our person or our earthly possessions, should not be held until tomorrow. Sharing the good news of the Gospel is all about today! I needed to write this devotional for myself as much as for anyone else who needs to read it. It’s still as easy as ever to fall into the complacency of putting it off until tomorrow.

If you believe that Jesus died for your sins, you have the knowledge of the Gospel inside of you. God is relying on you to share that knowledge today. Don’t wait until tomorrow to have that conversation with your coworker, your siblings, your parents or your friend. Whoever it may be, trust in the Lord to provide you with the strength and words to do it today!
